Storytelling images are the core of portraiture, revealing the beauty and uniqueness of our subjects, and we have spent decades refining our craft with still images. But technology has put video in our hands and made it so easy to capture the life and unique personalities of our clients!

Now comes the new stuff: the foreign terms, the overwhelming frustration of new technology… But, Wait! Suzette Allen, Adobe educator and pioneer of Hybrid Photography, along with her husband Jonny, will show you fast and easy (and profitable) ways to integrate some motion into your still portraits and painlessly edit and create finished shows (eProducts) with them!

The afternoon Hands-On class will cover all the options and tech terms of the video/hybrid workflow, and include a live demo with models and continuous lights to film and conceptualize a hybrid eproduct. Students will have a chance to shoot as well, getting help with the settings on their cameras. (DSLR or mirrorless is ok). We will also download and edit/trim videos with Lightroom 4 or 5.

The evening class will be a platform-style class where the basics of shooting videos for portraits will be highlighted but the bulk of the presentation will be 3-5 different ways of assembling a finished eProduct with video footage. Included in that demo is how to create custom videos with Lightroom 5, Photoshop CC, Pro Show Web, eTemplates, and a few other options. This is a must-see for anyone with their eye on video and a desire to see the magic in the future of our industry!

Storytelling vignettes and Moving Portraits are the new language of our era -- learn how to capture genuine personality with motion, revealing the fun and unique personalities of your subjects, whether they be friends, family or clients!

Suzette Allen is one of the leading educators in our industry, teaching Adobe Photoshop for the past 13 years. She is now pioneering a new territory with Video, adding motion to her still photos to create Hybrid eProducts! Suzette and her husband Jonny are passionate about helping photographers to not only create, but to embrace new technology, tech terms and software!

Suzette’s hands-on classes are co-taught with her techy husband Jonny, (former video guy and audio tech), so you get a well-rounded dose of right brain/left brain knowledge and a fun combo of personalities to boot! Join them in learning a fresh new language of seeing/communicating, and open the possibilities of exciting new ways to visualize, document, create, and sell our photography!
